GIANNA STUDIOS Our area Lefkada is one of the Ionian Islands, also known as the Ionian Islands, which are located in the Ionian Sea. The island is less than 100 meters from the mainland coast of Acarnania, to which it is connected by a bridge. The Lefkada channel is 50 meters wide. Lefkada is the fourth largest island of the Ionian Sea. The Prefectural Self-Government of Lefkada consists of Lefkada and the surrounding islands of Meganisi, Kalamos, Kastos, Skorpios, Skorpidi, Madouri, Sparti, Thilia, and Kythros. The capital of the prefecture is the city of Lefkada. The island has a Mediterranean climate, has many hours of sunshine per day and is characterized by mild winters with increased rainfall and hot summers with cool breezes. 70% of the island's territory is mountainous. (highest peak 1167m). Lefkada has abundant water, mainly springs but also streams that flow from above, creating small waterfalls. In the northern part of the island there is a lagoon that is an important wetland and environment for many species of birds. The town of Lefkada with its historic center, mansions, narrow streets and the castle of Agia Mavra (Santa Mavra) - these are the unique features that tend to constitute the cultural heritage of the island. Places & Excursions Lefkada gives you every day a different choice of wandering. The south side is famous for its warm and calm waters. The coasts are smooth with shallow waters. If you have inflatables or rent a boat you can swim in deserted beaches and visit Prigiponnisia (Meganissi, Kalamos and Kastos). The coastal settlement of Perigiali is located on the road to Nydri. The entire coastal zone from the village to the bay of Vlychos has been unified and has been used for tourism. Perigiali is built in a wonderful location that combines green nature with wonderful beaches.
